My 2018 Highlights

Hi girls,

Happy New Year! I love the new year as it always feels like a fresh start.
I always like to take a look back at the year previously and reminisce over my favourite bits and think about what I achieved in that year. Below are few of my best bits of 2018…

In February I went skiing with family which was amazing, look at that spectacular view!

In March I visited Antwerp for work and fell in love with the city, this was the view from my hotel room! Antwerp is full of cute little streets with independent coffee shops, boutiques and vintage shops.

In April I set up my blog! It was in the middle of the night that I woke up with the idea (honestly!) and I was so excited, I couldn’t wait to start. I have always loved writing and used to have a blog when I was a teenager but stopped when I moved to London and started in the fashion industry. I have loved writing throughout this year and I promise to continue this year.

In May I jumped on two planes and went to Sydney, Australia to visit one of my best friends! I had so much fun exploring that beautiful city. My main highlights were taking a ferry from Sydney Harbour to Manly, spending the day at Bondi and swimming in the famous Bondi Iceburgs outside pool and spotting dolphins swimming by the coastline on a 3 hour coastal walk.

In June my friend and I then went to Fiji for a week which was absolutely incredible. The weather was amazing every day and I got to witness some breathtaking views. A couple of highlights were taking a ferry to MalaMala beach club (pictured below) which is situated on a tiny island in the middle of the South Pacific Ocean and feeding baby sharks swimming around my feet in the water.

In July I went to see the incredible Bruno Mars and spent the day running around drinking in the sweltering heat with glitter on my face accompanied by my little sister.

In August it was boiling hot and I spent days in the park drinking gin & tonics and celebrating friends birthdays.

September was a busy month, I went to Paris with my boyfriend and went to view one of my favourite paintings by one of my favourite artists; Monet and his Water Lilies series housed at Musée de l’Orangerie.
Then towards the end of September it was my work summer party on a boat on the Thames and I was the DJ! It was one of my favourite nights out of 2018. I also went to Friendsfest with my boyfriend which was a brilliant Friday date night running around pretending we’re Ross and Rachel.

In October it was Halloween (in case you didn’t know) and I got dressed up as a dead mermaid or a dead 80’s disco queen (you choose) and partied in Camden Town. I also won a dance competition in the bar (I’m so cool) and won a free lager (I don’t drink beer) for my Thriller dance routine imitation. Since then I’ve decided to audition for Britains Got Talent…

In November I ate a lot of incredible food at the newly opened restaurant The Coal Office in Coal Drops Yard (my new favourite hang out spot of 2018). I also went to Brockwell Park on bonfire night to watch 2 amazing firework displays with tasty hot mulled cider and a delicious hog roast bap.

Then to end what was a great year, I had a lovely Christmas at home in Norfolk with the family. There was a lot of eating, drinking, dog walking, dancing and playing 1000 games of Monopoly and a 1000 tantrums/arguments along with it. I’ve come back to London this week about 5 pounds heavier but that’s normal right!

Special shout out to my friends and family who made my 2018 a fantastic year. I hope you had a great 2018 as well but if it wasn’t the best and sometimes life does hand you a sh*t year, then you’ve got the fresh start to make 2019 the best yet and hopefully my highlights can give you some inspiration of how to make that happen.

So happy New Year and lots of love to all of you xxxxx
